Watch out!

"Watch out for emergencies. They are your BIG chance!' - Fritz Reiner

I know this to be true. Almost every time I find myself with lemons, an angel comes along and shows me how to make lemonade. Usually when you're in an uncomfortable situation the last thing on your mind is how to make it a positive situation, but it is in these dark recesses that we can find gems.

Resolution...

"Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important that any other thing" - Abraham Lincoln

That is so true! We sometimes forget the committments we make with ourselves, get side tracked, then wonder - what happened? Keep the target in focus. Write it down. Read it out loud - often and always.

One of my goals this year is to take guitar lessons and jam with a band December 2007. First I'll need a teacher - I already have a guitar - Bass, Acoustic and Electric. Now let's find a mentor.

Courage

Pain nourishes courage. You can't be brave if you've only had wonderful things happen to you - Mary Tyler Moore

I have a friend who's going through a very difficult time... mentally, emotionally, financially... I keep telling him, "look at the better side of things, stop dwelling on the bad and imagine and act on the good."

But what's good when you're in a slump?
Look up
See the sky
Try to touch it.

Reach, stretch, Strive...

50 Coolest Websites

How do we select our finalists? We evaluate hundreds of candidates—some suggested by readers, colleagues and friends, others discovered during countless hours of surfing. Many of this year's choices are shining examples of Web 2.0: next-generation sites offering dynamic new ways to inform and entertain, sites with cutting-edge tools to create, consume, share or discuss all manners of media, from blog posts to video clips. Think we missed one? Send us your thoughts and we'll post a selection of your comments online. There's always next year.

A new start?

Here I am, once again, resolving to spend time keeping my daily thoughts and movements in a journal.
Can I do it?
Will I succeed this time?

Over time I have come to realize that anything I want to do starts and develops between my ears... believing and doing.

Personal Concierge Anyone?

Last year I got this idea to help my husband keep his employees happy, hydrated, and motivated. You see, we run an excavation company, and the summer months can be brutal on the laborers and operators alike, so...

I started carrying a cooler full of iced cold drinks ( soda, sports drinks, iced tea and H2O. They loved it! Word got around that I was doing PR work. Well that got me to thinking... why not offer my services to other busy individuals. I can arrange to have their home spotless, automobile detailed and other errands like shopping, post office, dry cleaners, wait for service (cable, telephone, furniture delivery) at their home...

A personal concierge is no longer exclusive to guests at a five-star hotel. The TLC Personal Concierge advantage is a diverse portfolio of professional services available to both individuals and businesses.

Women out juggle men

By EDMUND L. ANDREWS

Published: September 15, 2004

WASHINGTON, Sept. 14 - It may fall into the category of Things You Knew but Could Never Prove, but a new survey by the Department of Labor shows that the average working woman spends about twice as much time as the average working man on household chores and the care of children.

The average working woman also gets about an hour's less sleep each night than the average stay-at-home mom. And men spend more time than women both at their jobs and on leisure and sports.
